The Belmont-San Carlos Fire Department goal is to prevent fires through education. Through a variety of programs such as fire extinguisher training, school presentations (K-3rd grade), home safety education, babysitting classes, workplace safety education, and many other special events, the department strives to reduce life and property loss.

Your business or organization can request a fire safety demonstration by calling the Belmont-San Carlos Fire Department. October is Fire Awareness Month.

Home Safety - Upon request of a homeowners association, the Belmont-San Carlos Fire Department will visit with the residents and provide valuable information and suggestions on how to making their home fire safe.

Babysitting Classes - Periodically the Fire Prevention Bureau will sponsor a babysitting class to kids 12 years old and older. This is an informational class that provides the new babysitter with information they can use to make their job a little easier. The class mainly concentrates on the safety aspect of their job as the babysitter. This includes what to do incase of an emergency (fire, burglar, medical, unexpected visitor) and what to expect from children in the different age groups. If you are interested in attending a class, call the Fire Prevention Bureau and your name will be placed on a list for the next available class.

Workplace Safety - This class is for Business'. Upon a request, the Fire Department can provide safety information or public demonstrations to staff and employees concerning safety in the workplace. A fire extinguisher demonstration can also be provided.
